Of course everybody knows, it is illegal to just copy pictures from other websites an reuse them for websites, catalogues, artistic works or whatever. As long as someone is a professional content producer, it will be no problem to buy pictures from pictureagencies on the traditional way and to get the very sophistcated professional pictures.

But what is about small budget or even just fun usage? People often ask me, if they are allowed to use that picture for this kind of use for free, but normally I can only answer: No. So this post ist about how to find pictures one can reuse, without expensive licence fees or even for free.

In times of internet there are different ways to get quite high quality pictures at very low costs or even for free, as long as the given licences are respected and one know were to get this pictures. This post describes two different types of picture databases and referrs to visual artists, freelance graphic designers, webdesigners etc, with no abillity to buy the big pictures. It's to be underlined at this point, that still, there can be found very nice pictures. And finally some of the mentioned websites, offer photographers the opportunity to sell their pictures, so this information can be interesting for semiprofessional photographers too.
